This workspace I started building last year is almost finished. I’ll probably make a small project studio in there (finally some daylight!). Most of the material like wood and bricks is from a house next door that was knocked down.

Like a good wine my tracks go through an aging process on my hard disk. From time to time I pull them out and have a listen, add a little note, make a new mixdown. Sometimes a track sounds not as amazing with a couple of months distance. If it can’t be saved it goes into the ‚ideas‘ folder which is another word for junkyard. It’s where songs go to die. Sometimes though after listening again after a couple of years some part of it might be salvaged and become the inspiration for a new song.

In the mid 90s me and a bunch of friends used to do one-off parties in abandoned buildings and tunnels in Munich. We called them ‘Instant parties’ and people knew about it by word-of mouth only. We set up the power generator, PA system, hauled in the drinks and ran the party. Some of us played an hour DJ set as a reward. That was the hour where you could forget about everything, and your job was only to play records. Nobody got paid and if you didn’t get your hands dirty by setting up the party you were not allowed to play. Those were the rules, and they led to some unforgettable times. pic ca 1999 by @sirhenris
Dear knobs, buttons and cables, I haven’t had much time for you lately, but I’ll make up for it very soon.
So eine Überraschung – Kernkraft 400 ist die neue Torhymne der deutschen Nationalmannschaft. Ich hoffe wir hören es recht oft bei zur EM nächstes Jahr! 🥅 ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️ And then this happened: The German soccer team has a new goal anthem ⚽️ ⚽️ ⚽️
At work 🔨 – What’s up?
Just a few beautiful faders and knobs waiting to be touched
OP-Z arp to Prophet 5
I got this nice arpeggio going on the OP-Z and then connected it via Midi to the Prophet 5.
It’s amazing to control the big synth from such a tiny piece of equipment.
The first 8 seconds of this clip is OP-Z synth, and afterwards Prophet only. I have to say the OP-Z synth sounds pretty legit!
found this session while cleaning up my ‘2017 recordings’ folder and decided to re-mix it
